A room called Double sounds like one product, and it isn’t. On the official pages of five business hotels around Tokyo Station, the standard room for two runs from 129 to 161 ft² (12 to 15 m²), and the bed is 55 or 63 inches (140 or 160 cm) wide. The 140 cm bed turns up in the smallest of the five rooms and in the largest.
Only Fresa Inn gives a walk to Tokyo Station itself. The others are in Shinbashi, Ginza and Kanda, and the second table gives the station walks each hotel states. The five are in different chains, nothing is ranked, and there are no advertising or affiliate links on this page. Room rates are left out, because they move with the date.
Five standard rooms, side by side
Each row is the room the hotel’s page sells for two guests, or at Fresa Inn the room called Double. Rows run from the smallest area to the largest. “Not listed” means the page for that room doesn’t say.

The 140 cm bed sits in the smallest room and the largest
The area column spans 3 m² (32 ft²), from 129 ft² at Super Hotel Shinbashi to 161 ft² at Dormy Inn Premium Kanda and Tokyu Stay Ginza. The bed column barely moves. Super Hotel’s 12 m² room and the 15 m² rooms at Dormy Inn and Tokyu Stay all have a 140 cm bed. The one 160 cm bed, at Henn na Hotel Tokyo Ginza, is in a 14.5 m² (156 ft²) room. Tokyu Stay also lists an 18 m² (194 ft²) Superior Double with a 1,600 mm bed, so there a 160 cm bed comes with 3 m² (32 ft²) more floor. A wider bed didn’t need a much bigger room.
Three things stay open. Fresa Inn, Dormy Inn and Tokyu Stay say nothing about the bath in the standard room, while Super Hotel and Henn na say unit bath, the one-piece tub, sink and toilet module. Tokyu Stay marks a separate bath and toilet with an icon on its 33 m² Executive Double and on no other room, which tells you about the Executive Double and nothing about the rest. And none of the five says what its area figure includes.

Room names add little. A semi-double (セミダブル) is a 120 cm (47 in) bed for one guest at Dormy Inn, and at Fresa Inn the same 120 cm bed as the room called single. At Henn na, the bed called Semi-Double is 140 cm (55 in) wide, in a Deluxe Single Room of 13 m² (140 ft²) for one person.

What the area leaves for luggage
Area is the one number in the table that speaks to luggage, and it only goes so far. By the arithmetic in How Much Luggage Fits in a Japanese Hotel Room?, a 29-inch bag opened flat needs about 8 ft² (0.75 m²) of clear floor. Take the bed out of the area for the three rooms where the hotels give both width and length:
- Super Hotel Shinbashi: a 2.8 m² (30 ft²) bed leaves 9.2 m² (99 ft²) of 12 m² (129 ft²)
- Henn na Ginza: a 3.12 m² (34 ft²) bed leaves 11.4 m² (122 ft²) of 14.5 m² (156 ft²)
- Dormy Inn Premium Kanda: a 2.73 m² (29 ft²) bed leaves 12.3 m² (132 ft²) of 15 m² (161 ft²)
What is left still has to hold the bath, the entrance, the desk and the closet, and no page says whether the area already counts the bath. So the subtraction shows the difference in size between rooms and doesn’t show whether a bag opens. The 12 m² room leaves about 3 m² (33 ft²) less than the 15 m² room.
For two big bags, the twin rooms on the same pages are the larger rooms. Taking the smallest twin each hotel lists and setting aside accessible and connecting rooms, they are Henn na’s Twin Room at 17.5 m² (188 ft²), with its Corner Twin above that at 19.6 m² (211 ft²), Fresa Inn’s Deluxe Twin at 23.2 m² (250 ft²), Dormy Inn’s Twin at 24 m² (258 ft²) and Tokyu Stay’s Superior Twin at 25 m² (269 ft²). The Tokyu Stay twin is the room without a washer-dryer.
As of October 2026, from the room pages linked under the first table. The bed areas are width times length from the table, and the remainders are arithmetic, not figures any hotel publishes. The twin rooms are on the Henn na, Fresa Inn, Dormy Inn and Tokyu Stay room pages.
Two people, one bed
A 140 cm bed is 55 inches, which gives each of two adults 27.5 inches. The 160 cm bed at Henn na is 63 inches, or 31.5 inches each. Can Two Adults Sleep on a 140 cm Hotel Bed? sets those figures against a US full and queen, and it covers the wall-side problem that a width can’t show.
The guest column is less tidy than the bed column. Dormy Inn and Tokyu Stay list their 140 cm rooms for 2. Super Hotel lists the same width for 1 to 2. Henn na lists its 160 cm Double for 1 to 2 and its 140 cm semi-double for 1. Fresa Inn gives no count. So a 140 cm bed is sold for one person at one hotel and for two at three others, and the width alone doesn’t tell you which. If you share, read the width and the guest line together, and treat a missing guest line as a missing number.
Match your worry to a column
- Two adults on one bed. Bed and Guests, read together. Look at the room type too, since Tokyu Stay lists a 160 cm room next to its 140 cm one.
- Large bags. Area, then the twin rooms above.
- Washing clothes. Laundry. At Tokyu Stay the washer-dryer depends on the room type, and for the coin laundries the price is a question for the hotel’s page.
- Breakfast. Breakfast. The Tokyu Stay Ginza notice gives spring 2027 as the project’s completion and doesn’t say breakfast returns.
- A short walk with bags. Walk, and the exit. Dormy Inn’s shortest walk is from a Metro exit and its JR walk is longer. Henn na’s page lists no Ginza station as a nearest station.
- A soak. In-room bath, and the hotel’s own page for a large bath. Dormy Inn lists one on the 12th floor (明神の湯).
The short version
- On these five pages the standard room for two is 129 to 161 ft² (12 to 15 m²), and four of the five beds are 55 inches (140 cm) wide.
- Read bed width and guest count together, because the same 140 cm bed is listed for 1 person at one hotel and for 2 at others.
- Bath, laundry and breakfast differ more than the room does, so check those three on the hotel’s own page for the room type you pick.
